Volkswagen Blind Spot Monitoring

New technology can eliminate a lot of the oldest problems on the roadways. Blind spots are no exception. One of many great driver assistance features available in new Volkswagen vehicles is Blind Spot Monitoring, allowing you switch lanes with confidence and peace of mind while driving around the Bowling Green area.

It begins operating at speeds above nine miles per hour, sending radar signals out to the rear and sides of the vehicle, detecting other cars within roughly 21 yards of your Volkswagen. The system then calculates the speed difference between your car and those in the covered area.

If another approaching vehicle is detected, a blind spot warning light on the side view mirror will be illuminated. And if you turn on your turn signal in the direction of the lane where another motorist has been spotted, that symbol will begin to flash brightly, warning you to wait.
